What is SOLIDWORKS?
Solidworks is one of the products of Solidworks Corporation, which is a part of Dassault Systems.
-
What are the modes of Solidworks?
There are three modes of solidworks, parts, assembly and Drawing.
Part Mode
The part mode is the very first mode of solidworks in which a 3D model is created. To create any design you’re provided three default planes named as Front Plane, Top plane, and Right Plane.
Assembly Mode
After creating the different parts of a model in a part mode, next task is to assemble these tasks to create a model. For assembling the parts we need to use this mode.
Drawing Mode
The drawing mode is used for the documentation of any created part or assembly. All the documentation is done in 2D format in this mode. The documentation consists of various drawing views and therefore the details within the drawing views.

What are the different command manager tabs that are extensively used during the design processes in part mode?
The command managers that are extensively used during the designing processes within the environment are
Features Command Manager
This tab consists of all the tools required for converting sketch into part. The commands that we apply on any part or sketch using this tab are known as Features.
Sketch Command Manager
This command manger is used to enter and exit the 2D and 3D sketching environments. The tools available in this command manager are used to draw sketches for features. This command manager is additionally wont to add relations and smart dimensions to the sketched entities.
DimXpert Command Manager
This Command Manager is employed to feature dimensions and tolerances to the features of a neighbourhood.
Sheet Metal Command Manager
The tools related to the sheet metal designing are present in this tab. To create the sheet metal parts you have to use this Command Manager while working with the part mode.
Mold Tools Command Manager
This Command manger is used to create a mold and to extract its core and cavity
Evaluate Command Manager
This Command Manager is used for evaluating information of any created part or assembly. This command manager is present in all the three modes of solidworks.
Surface Command Manager
This command manager is used to create the outer bodies of any object like outer body of car, aeroplanes or any aerofoil section. All these design consists in Surface designing.
Direct Editing Command Manager
This command manager consists of tools that are used for editing a feature of any part.
Data Migration Command Manager
This command manager consists of tools that are wont to work with the models created in other packages or in several environments.

Does Solidworks works as a platform software for other software?
Yes. Solidworks also works as platform software for a number of software. This implies that you simply also can use other compatible software within the Solidworks window.
There are software provided by the solidworks Corporation, which can be used as Add- INS with Solidworks. Some of the software which will be used on Solidworks work platform are listed below:
Solidworks Animation
Photoworks
E-Drawings
Solidworks Mold
Solidworks Electrical
Solidworks Piping
Solidworks Composer

What are the types of assembly? And what they mean?
The two main types of assembly are Bottom-Up Assembly and Top Down assembly.
In bottom up assembly, the parts are created individually and saved. At the time of assembly they are recalled assembled together.
In Top-Down Assembly method the parts are created in the assembly mode.
-
What is Parametric Modeling?
The parametric modeling is nothing but a property of 3D CAD package which allows you to change the parameters of any component at any time of designing. The parametric nature of a software package is defined as its ability to use the quality properties or parameters in defining the form and size of a geometry.
-
What is SWIFT Technology in Solidworks?
SWIFT is that the acronym for Solidworks Intelligent Feature Technology. This technology makes Solidworks more user-friendly. Examples of this technology are DimXpert, SketchXpert etc.
-
What is Pierce relation in Sketch?
This relation makes the sketched point to be coincident to the axis, edge, or curve where it pierces the sketch plane.

What is section properties tool in Solidworks?
The section properties tool enables you to calculate the section properties of the sketch in the sketching environment or of selected planer face in the part mode and assembly mode.
The section properties include the centroid moment of inertia, polar moment of inertia, angle between the principle axes and sketch axes, and principle moment of inertia.
-
What is knit surface?
Knit is analogous to the solid feature combine in that it joins multiple surface body. It also has a choice to create a solid if the resulting surface body meets the wants.
-
Which command allows you to add two bends in a sheet metal part? How?
Jog command in sheet metal allows you to add two bends in a sheet metal part. Select a face of sheet metal > sketch a line> jog> select line> select fixed face> ok.
-
What is NPSM in 1-1/4-11-1/2 NPSM Hole specification size?
